Coconut Grove
Project: Miami, Florida: Coconut Grove Neighborhood
Scope: Masterplan & Execution of Vehicular Wayfinding Signage
Design Firm: TGA Design

Coconut Grove is one of the oldest areas of Miami, established in 1873. It was once home to an airport on the bay, which now serves as City Hall.

Primary design direction was meant to pay tribute to the areas history and and at the same time acknowledge the current vibrant pulse. We took time reviewing historical pictures in the libraries archives to use on the signs. This area being a favorite spot for tourists, it was also inessential to provide wayfindng to landmarks and parking.

Coconut Grove is home to Bayshore Landing which is part of the marina on Biscayne Bay. We designed an entry monument around a giant anchor we acquired at a salvage yard.
