In 2010 I had the opportunity to work with Levin Silbert on this Information design project for United Federation of Teachers Headquarters in Manhattan. I helped to develop concepts and design intent drawings for a Wall of Honor located on the ground level and historical exhibits on the second floor lobby.
The Talbott Hotel is a beautiful 178-keys boutique hotel in the Gold Coast neighborhood of downtown Chicago, next to iconic Michigan Ave. The project scope included planning, design, build and installation of interior wayfinding and code signage. The project was completed in Spring 2017.
Onodaga Citizens League - Syracuse, NY
Design Firm:Independent Project
I was commissioned by the Onodaga Citizens League (OCL) in 2012 to create data visualization of refugee arrivals in Syracuse, New York during a ten-year period between 2001 and 2011. It was published in their yearly report The World At Our Doorstep. The OCL is a not-for-profit organization that proposes solutions to issues facing Central New York.
Quantum of the Seas - Royal Caribbean International
I was contracted in 2012 to consult the Gensler design team on Royal Caribbean International’s new Quantum Class ship that was released in 2014. I participated in design and wayfinding strategy review which was used in the development of signage for Quantum of the Seas and later for Anthem of the Seas. Quantum is currently cruising in Alaskan waters.
This 201-key Thompson Hotel is located within the luxurious Buckhead Village district outside of Atlanta. Its scope was a design-build on all areas of property signage, exterior/interior signage & wayfinding.
Work was completed on the Mondiran Park Avenue Hotel in 2016 and included a design-build on all areas of property signage, exterior/interior signage & wayfinding.
RocketSpace is a business incubator specializing in tech startups in San Fransisco. We completed signage and wayfinding design for the office space in 2017. Its scope included design, build and install of all interior signs.
The Hyatt Regency is located in Weston Florida, north west of Miami. It is a large property surrounded by a championship golf course, multiple restaurants, a spa and conference center. Its scope included resort pedestrian and vehicular wayfinding signage. Work was completed in the late 2000’s and the property ownership and brand has changed in recent years.
In 2019 work on Moxy Global Signage Standards was completed and included developing technical working drawings for all exterior and interior signage. The package is intended to maintain the brand standards worldwide and included provisions to maintain effective hotel and wayfinding signage with dual language messaging when needed.
In 2020 work was completed on signage and wayfinding design. Its scope included design and build of all exterior and interior signage. Hotel Kansas City is a Gothic Revival-style boutique hotel which originally opened in 1922 as a social club.
Majesty of the Seas - Royal Caribbean International
Majesty of the Seas was taken out of service for a complete renovation in 2006. Most signs had to be removed and replaced due to name changes and normal wear and tear. All food and beverage areas were completely remodeled and new signs and graphics were included. Subsequently, Royal Caribbean International sold Majesty in 2020 and is no longer part of the fleet.
iSchool - Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY
Design Firm:Independent Project
I was commissioned by the School of Information Studies (iSchool) at Syracuse University. I designed data visualization that captured all majors, subsequent courses and how they are shared, as well as their integration among all academic levels within the iSchool. The final document was used as a tool for faculty to review curriculum during their faculty planning days.
In 2002 I worked on the vehicular Master Plan for the D.O.T. style signage into the Port of Miami. At the time there was great need to direct cargo trucks, cruise guest and employees into the port using the correct path to help alleviate the traffic that would back up. Later in 2014, the port further addressed the traffic issues by completing a tunnel under channel for cargo trucks.
In 2016 work was completed on signage and wayfinding design; its scope included design and build of all exterior and interior signage. The Troubadour Hotel is a historic property, and also the site of a horrible fire which took the lives of six people. This event ushered in changes to fire and building codes nationwide. It is now a boutique hotel part of the Hilton Family of hotels and can be found within its Tapestry Collection brand.
