In the Spring of 2008, working was finished on Liberty of the Seas, third in a series of Eagle Class ships that included Freedom and Independence of the Seas for Royal Caribbean International (RCI). At that time, the three sister ships were the largest cruise ships in the world, all built at a Finnish shipyard in Turku, Finland by Aker Yards.
